Handgun found in a child’s diaper bag at an eastern North Carolina preschool

A handgun was found in a child’s diaper bag at an eastern North Carolina preschool.

River Bend Police officials say the gun was found in a toddler’s bag at Excel Learning Center on Monday morning.

The weapon was found by a member of the center’s staff, and nobody was hurt.

Investigators are working with the Department of Social Services and the District Attorney's Office.
