The maker of one of the best solar generators according to our testing team is back with the debut of its new wearable Handsfree power station. Plus, there’s a launch discount to celebrate the reveal that’s taking $130 off the usual price tag.

The new Bluetti Backpack Power Station is a fresh take on the portable electric generators that have been all the rage recently. The Handsfree lives up to its name with a form factor that you wear on your back. You might think that it’s just a backpack at first glance thanks to that design, but opening the side panel reveals a different story thanks to an array of five ports (one AC, two 100W USB-C and two 15W USB-A) for plugging in gadgets.

There are two different versions of the backpack available at launch: the Handsfree 1 and Handsfree 2. Each one has much of the same technology our editors have raved about in the past, just with two different battery capacities. The smaller model has a 300W power output with 268.8Wh of LFP storage capacity, while its larger counterpart steps up to a 700W and 512Wh system.

Alongside just being portable power stations, the backpacks can actually haul gear. The two different models each share a 42-liter capacity bag. There are tons of different internal pockets for keeping your gear organized. Plus, a water-resistant coating helps keep you covered in the rain.

Bluetti is specifically noting how useful its new Backpack Power Stations will be for travel and outdoor photographers. I can also definitely see this being helpful for really any outdoor adventurer. Campers and hikers come to mind first, but motorcyclists, rock climbers or anyone who spends a lot of time away from an outlet will benefit.
